A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Wuling, Taiwan by TravelPod blogger Trekkergold titled “Visit to the Divine Trees and Wuling Farm” Trekkergold’s travel blog entry: “We had an early rise today — 6:30am — as we have arranged to take a tour of the “Divine Trees” in one of the three old trees parks that are within an hour of where we are staying. The site we are going to lie within a protected area where only licensed vehicles may enter. Indeed, our guide indicated that this road is one of the most protected in the whole of Taiwan as many of the older trees on the island were cut down during the Japanese occupation — a number of temples (particularly Kyoto where I will be visiting in a few weeks and specifically what is thought to be the largest door in all of Japan) in Japan are made from wood from Taiwan. These trees were spared because access to the site was limited and a road was only constructed about 50 years ago, after the Japanese occupation had ended. Anyway, back to the morning — we had arranged to meet the tour at 7:30 which meant we had to not only check out but have the provided breakfast before then. It was difficult to leave so soon. In the morning, I could walk out onto the patio that was attached to our cottage and overlook the river below. The view was great — and, even last evening, I just lay in my bed and looked through the blinds at the shadows of trees outside and listened to the sound of the water (presumably) below. Check out …
