A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Taipei, Taiwan by TravelPod blogger Teamrocket8 titled “Taroko to Taipei within a day aka. Taroko NP Day 3″ Teamrocket8′s travel blog entry: “I decided to wake up early enough for breakfast today seeing as I paid for it and all. I tried for 7:30, but really it was about 8 by the time I got down. Breakfast was OK, it was a buffet and very Asian, like the scrambled eggs hard corn inside and we had chicken nuggets as well. Kinda nice though. Mr. Liu came to pick us up just before 9:30 and we took off for Eternal Springs Shrine, dedicated to the 202 workers who lost their lives and the 700+ who were injured whilst building the highway. I honestly did not anticcipate on having to climb anything today thinking yesterday was enough but it turned out to be a long trek up and around the mountain. We came down on the other side of the tunnel we went through to get to the shrine! The driver said that we were really quick in doing that, in about 45 minutes, whereas his other clients take about an hour and a half. Kickass!! After that we went to the Qing Shui Cliffs. It was really nice to see the ocean again … not that I see it very often back home but it was just nice. However, the “beach” wasn’t all that inviting. A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Banff, Canada by TravelPod blogger Whereshegoes titled “Conveniences cause sacrificial effects” Whereshegoes’s travel blog entry: “We decided to make a few side trips into ‘town’ and I came to a sad realization. Before I left Canada, the small cute mountain town of Banff was well on its way to becoming a tourist trap. Altho they have capped (strict laws to control any new contruction including residential) new permits, it appears to have come too late. Max and I were thinking of moving our camping site into the Banff area but as we drove through the sea of 500+ sites, we made our decision quickly. It was way to crowded and commercial for us. We couldn´t wait to jump back in the car and return to our secluded serene retreat where our tent pegs wouldn´t be overlapping our neighbours. Sure they had shower and bathrooms but I guess living that close to each other, you had better! I was also discouraged at the outrageous 14 dollar fee you must pay for a day permit at the gates of the national park. Infact, everything in Canada seems to be much more expensive than before I left. I dont know if its my imagination or just the fact that I have been in much cheaper countries for the last while, but it really feels like prices are at least 20 or 30 percent higher. When I left, a litre of gas cost 42 cents and now its 80! A 600 ml bottle of Pepsi was .00 and now is .50. The prices are the same as in Argentina where I have spent …
