
Taiwanese companies are manufacturing clothes in Africa and then importing them to the US for retailers such as Wal-Mart. To get through US customs these garments must say “Made in Swaziland” on the tag, but once inside the US, the clothes are taken to a warehouse and these tags are replaced with tags that say “Made in Taiwan.” This is done to keep the labor conditions in the African factories a secret.
