Mo_k’s travel blog entry: “I got up super early again (7 am) for some morning Tai Chi. It was a nice way to wake up. Although there isn’t much instruction, you just try to shadow the instructor. After that was a huge breakfast buffet, tons of food and a mix of western and Chinese, I really liked the bacon. That was followed by hours and hours of laying on the sundeck reading a book and enjoying watching the world float by. After all that was lunch, another huge Chinese meal. These cruises are killer. After all the relaxing we had a shore excursion to the Ghost Temple. The temple is a Taoist temple for the King of the Underworld. They believe that when you die you come here and are judged by the King. If you are good you go to Heaven if you are bad you are tortured in Hell. Very Christian sounding. One difference is hell is above Heaven and is very cold, I guess in a very hot climate that would be Hell. There are also ghosts along the way that try to tempt you or steal you if your bad, so you must be careful. The hike itself consisted of 600 steps up a hill stopping 3 times. Once at the gates to the temple, once at Heaven and once at Hell. In Heaven you meet the king and he passes judgement. In hell it’s a proper torture chamber. After seeing it, I can understand where the Khmer Rouge (Cambodia) got their torture …
