We decided that the first sunny morning we encountered, we would go to Ocean Park! Yes, yes we are “grown-ups” but we love theme parks and animals…what more could we ask for! It was smoking hot and still really humid. We (especially Todd) even had to wear sunscreen in October! We took the MTR (subway) to Admiralty then took the bus to Ocean Park. The Octopus card is so handy! You don’t have to fiddle around with change and bills, it was definitely a plus! When we arrived at Ocean Park, I was amazed at how greeny-blue the ocean was. I didn’t remember that at all when I last went there. It was beautiful, just like all the South East Asian beaches we’ve been too (Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia). I forgot that HK is pretty far down south. At Ocean Park, we walked and walked and walked….(good time to work off the excess calories we will pack on when we gorge ourselves with Western food!). The exception was the gondola ride to the other side of the park. The rides were fun, the roller coaster was how I remembered it. Two loop-de-loops, with one of them looking like you’re gonna fly off into the ocean. A log ride with a Canadian theme! Lots of fun (plus we saw some real line-ups, what a bonus!!!)
