ANCHOR: And continuing coverage of China’s tainted milk crisis. Now in mainland China, state-run media is reporting that all milk products are safe to eat and drink. But the public is still suspicious. NTD caught up with one of the parents whose baby died from the poisonous milk to get their take on the story. STORY: Mr. Tang’s infant died after consuming tainted milk in China. His one-year-old passed away back on August 19th… nearly a month before any milk warning was put out. He’s frustrated that the public wasn’t warned about the deadly potential of Sanlu milk products sooner. On August 2nd the government knew about this issue, but they didn’t make it public after the 10th of September. I feel so upset about it. A citizen’s advocacy group called Gong Meng is helping milk powder victims’ families cope with their losses.
