My first completely original landscape. Not copied from other, not inspired in one particular painting. It was much harder than I thought. I think I need to copy much more classics to be able to create my own landscapes. It´s my 14th landscape. Probably when I have painted 50, it will be much easier. As I wasn´t very talkative, here is my critic: What I don´t like much: – The distant mountains: I painted them at the end, and I was tired. – Trying to apply the rule “the closest-the darkest” I think I took it too seriously in the bottom/left corner. Too dark and shapeless. – I don´t like the way the 2 pine trees look. They don´t outstand at all, probably I should have not painted them there, or maybe yes but smaller, I don´t know! – Maybe the pavillion should be painted with slightly thicker lines, to outstand a little bit more. Things I like from the painting: – The eddies of the water, or water ripples. I had never painted them before. Not bad for the fist time. – The way the sight is taken from the pavillion, flowing through the river to the distant mountain. – The trunk of the trees, the middle mountains… I think I am getting some confidence with the brush. It all does not mean I am not happy with the painting. I am enjoying it a lot. Just trying to learn out of every painting. All your comments are really welcome ![]()
