A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Shanghai, China by TravelPod blogger Mck1996 titled “Ownin’ the city…..” Mck1996′s travel blog entry: “Hello, Another entry in the middle of the night. I stayed awake from 3 am-8 pm….of course, now it’s 1:30 am, and I’m awake. I’ll recap Sunday since I have the time…. I ran from the hotel to the “Bund” at 6:30 am….which was COLD. 40 degrees, windy, cloudy….same weather for the next two or three days. It was nice to get a little over three miles in. The only people I saw running were non-Chinese folks. Many Chinese smoke (heard 68% of guys), so running really doesn’t seem like it’d be an important activity here…..so, many of the people were staring at me….and my bare legs (shorts). Some made comments….no idea what they were saying.
Running along the Bund and the Huangpu River facing the Pudong skyline was awesome…except for all the construction to get ready for the World Expo (formerly the World’s Fair) in May. I had to run on the road. :/ Since breakfast in the hotel is about , I opted to go to McDonald’s this morning. for hot cakes, sausage, and coffee was nice. I left McDonald’s to a see of older folks perfoming tai chi. I took a few pics…..while I was taking one, a lady was talking to me in Chinese and hitting her backside. I’m not sure if she was telling me I was an ass for taking pics or I had a nice one…..let’s go with the latter.
Anyway, see attached pic of the Tai Chi and a view …
