This beautiful and peace giving form is a slightly more vigorous, yet gentle form of qigong, that focuses on the spinal cord. The results of the practice will be a good opening and stretching of all the muscles, tendons and ligaments in the body, from your toes to the top of your head. The shaking motion, timed with a releasing exhale, adjusts and opens the energy pathways along the spinal cord. This frees up the energy throughout the body and your internal organs, especially benefiting your heart and your kidneys, as well as strengthening you back. Additionally, because Jade Body is such a core healing practice, it creates a feeling of physical, emotional and spiritual openness, warmth and connectedness . Jade Body Qigong was brought to the west by Master Liu Dong, an acclaimed Qi Gong master from China residing and teaching now in Paris, France. The central part of this form focuses on moving Qi through the spine, drawing on movements inspired by the turtle (cervical spine), the crane (thoracic spine) and the dragon (lumbar spine). The entire form is performed within the natural breathing rhythm of expansion (breathing in), stillness (holding), and contraction (breathing out).
