I now believe all that Sam and Kyra have said about mountains in their back yard! It has rained – like Dublin rain – for my first two days here, but hey that didn’t stop us. Sunday (very wet) we walked to the English Beach, very apt in the grey clouds and rain! We then took a little ferry to Granville Island. Which is a great market place full of fresh food of all cultures – and under cover. We stopped off in a bar – the backstage lounge – to dry ourselves and wet our whistle. We then went to smart steakhouse, with a waitress trying to walk in high heels, but looked more like a penguin! I was then taken to experience my first ever Ice Hockey game – we saw the Vancouver Giants against the Everett Silver Tips. This according to my expert guide Kyra was an unusual finish to a game, they had extra time and a shoot out (penalties to those football fans). The giants lost, so we went home and had 2 bottles of wine. Monday – a very slow start – much sleep had by all, and awoke late morning to rain!
