Deep in the mountains veiled in clouds and mist and surrounded by strange plants and flowers, Great Ghost Lake is deemed a sacred place for the Dadle people. As the Hawk-tribe has long coveted the resources of the Great Ghost Lake, they wage a war against the Dadles. Valiantly taking the challenge, Chadulhu, Chief of the Dadles, leads the warriors of his tribe to battle against the Hawk-tribe. However, he was injured by the hawk’s claw. The next day, despite the danger by the lake, Chadulhu’s daughter, Baleng went to Great Ghost Lake to collect the elixir-herbs for her father. Then the beautiful flute played by the Hundred-pace pit viper god attracts her attention. Upon their meeting, the two were in love at the first sight.
