There are several parks around the city. One of them, Xinghai park, is huge, plus Dalian has some beaches as well. So, we decided to spend a day and take a look. My roommate gave me an idea of bus routes and with a bit of an idea of where we needed to go, we set out. First stop — Olympic square. The Olympic rings gave it away as we pulled up. Dalian has a famous Olympic hurdler that they are proud of and I think that was his statue in the square. I said he is famous but I can’t remember his name now. I guess I will have to Google it later. They also have a stadium at Olympic square that sits empty most of the time. I think their soccer team used to play there. They have since moved to another city for their games. That may be another trip for us. But what really makes Olympic square a necessary stop is their underground mall. Computers and computer parts everywhere. I guess that is the place to go if you want to buy one. We went down and had a look. It was interesting. Now back to the bus and on to Xinghai park. Oh, the bus — It is a double decker bus. It is the only route that I have seen in Dalian or Kai fa qu with a double decker …
