A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Chengdu, China by TravelPod blogger Aenthul titled “Day 25: 4th of July in China” Aenthul’s travel blog entry: “It was raining when I woke up this morning, and about as chilly as it’s gotten here during the day so far. I didn’t know how much we would be inside or outside, so I wore my long khakis and tennis shoes. I was pretty tired, and the dark skies definitely didn’t help me to wake up. We rode the same bus that we did for the first trip, which was a bit unfortunate because it was a 1 ½ hour drive to the school, so the cramped space between seats was rather uncomfortable. Fortunately most of us are able to sit one to a seat, which helps. I was really excited to get to see the rest of town and the countryside, but it was really hard to stay awake. It was also really hard to fall asleep, because the bus driver would honk every time he came up beside another large vehicle, I guess to warn them that we were there. What I did notice is that there are an amazingly huge number of apartment complexes here. Near us they are all fairly nice looking, but farther out are more run down and often just concrete. I tried to take a couple of pictures, but between the rain and how fast the bus was moving they didn’t come out. A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal by TravelPod blogger Fyrelizard titled “Cards at the top of the world” Fyrelizard’s travel blog entry: “Travelling from Luza to Gokyo, the scenery became more rocky and wild and the valley closed in. We were trekking beside streams and waterfalls of clear water, refreshingly cool to splash on my face. In places where the rock had worn away, the water formed whirlpools which would have been lovely to soak in if only the water wasn’t just above freezing! The first and second lakes were a perfect turquoise blue, and a perfect place to stop for snacks. We had gained another trekking partner by this time- a great chap called Tom who as an added bonus had a seemingly endless supply of Dairy Milk. We stayed at Cho Oyu View, a lakeside lodge with one of the best views you are ever likely to get from a squat toilet. Tom and I fell in with a group of Americans who taught us the highly addictive card game of 13, which passed many an hour whilst sipping lemon tea (Dan and Jason: Life will never be the same!). Of course, we had to pass the time between card games doing something, so we took explored the glorious landscape. Our first peak was Gokyo Ri, which made Kala Pattar seem like a gentle stroll. Gokyo Ri took us to a height of 5340 metres (compared to 5600m at Kala Pattar- or 18373′ in old money), but due to a lower starting point it ended up being a longer hike. It is another place from which to …
