Working as a team, they cleared the house of clutter, and scrubbed everything bright and clean again, giving back the senior resident a comfortable place to stay again. —Disabled man’s chaotic home— The piles of clothes and magazines stacked up by the walls have spread to the bed; while it is not even possible to enter another clutter-filled room. The resident of this chaotic home is solitary senior, Mr. Li. Tzu Chi volunteer, Xiao Sujing: He has a younger sister who is also disabled. He fell over before, so he is incapacitated. That’s why the home is full of garbage. —41 volunteers get to work— Tipped off by neighbors, Tzu Chi volunteers in the Bade area of Taoyuan, in northern Taiwan, mobilized 41 people to clean up the home. Moving everything out in a human chain, the volunteers bin the garbage, rescue the recyclables, and scrub everything clean. —Clean home for solitary senior— It takes all Sunday morning for the volunteers to clear out two truck-loads of clutter.
