On August 27, 2009 a peaceful demonstration was organized in the Barangay proper of Brookes Point Municipality to protest against the possible endorsement of MacroAsia by the Sangunyan Bayan (Municipal Board). The municipal government has been accused of bypassing local decision-making process, while avoiding consultations with the affected communities. Other demonstrations against MacroAsia will take place in the coming months.
