There were no injuries or damage. The Boeing 737-800 left for the Taiwanese capital, Taipei, from Saga Airport on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu following repair work after a fracture was found in its fuselage last month, said Transport Official Kenji Toyama. The 70-centimeter (28-inch) fracture was found Sept. 21, weeks after a similar China Airlines aircraft exploded at another Japanese airport. The plane took off from Saga Airport on Friday afternoon but returned about 30 minutes later because there were discrepancies between the speedometers for the main pilot and the co-pilot, Toyama said, adding that the cause of fault was not immediately known. The jet was not carrying any passengers and there was no damage to the plane, he said. Toyama said the plane had been slow to take off, using the entire runway before becoming airborne. A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Taitung, Taiwan by TravelPod blogger Kurtmult titled “Easy day to Taitung”. TravelPod is a company of TripAdvisor™. Kurtmult’s travel blog entry: “Route: Dulan – Shanyuan Beach – Fugang Harbor – Taitung Total Distance: 24 km Altitude: 0m We wake up at 6:00am – I get the feeling that it’s impossible to get long sleep in tents. After packing our stuff we buy breakfast at a traditional breakfast shop and take it to the factory coffee shop, which is still closed. We enjoy the morning and the breakfast on the terrace. A girl on a scooter stops and looks for the owner. She introduces herself as Nina from Tainan. She has just completed her studies in mass-communication and drives alone on her scooter around Taiwan. She knows some artists in Dulan. After an hour, at 9:00am we leave. Nina passes by us on her scooter, stops and gives me her mobile number in case I will need help when I come to Tainan. We walk along the coastal road, sometimes walk down to a beach strip and then we walk the long streched Shanyuan beach. This has been the best beach on the East Coast with a great camping place under pine trees just beside the ocean. Now they are building right on the spot a 5-star hotel. Many people are pretty pi..off, sorry..unhappy about this. Environmetal groups say that a legally required Environmental Impact Assessment has not been done. I don’t know, but it’s a pitty. The only good news is that the beach is still open. We …
