I love it. First off, I saw an elephant eating a coconut at a french bistro! Now I personally find that sentence comparable to the knife wielding monkey driving a rusted-out gremlin that some of us experienced at Key! Complete randomness! Which brings me to my next thought.. Cambodia reminds me a tad of India. From the music, the tents set up along the side of a street for a wedding, the cow in the streeet, the death defying attempts at crossing the street, the friendly bartering and the happy people, it really does feel like India in a way. But it doesn’t look like India.. it’s clean and orderly and not jam packed with people. It has scooters and bikes everywhere, all equipped with the standard helmets and gloves and masks that one would find in Taiwan. Lol… I have, officially I think, labelled (so wrong of me I know) Phnom Phen as a happy cross of India and Taiwan. Plus they have rootbeer here! First time I’ve seen it since leaving Canada, and I’m totally pumped. It’s even A&W brand! Lol. Cambodia has been through some rough times in the recent past, and much of it is up for display for us tourists… Some of it is truly disturbing.
