There was hot water in the pantry outside our room for cooking the instant noodles and making ourselves a cup of coffee each. My beef noodle really had chunks of beef with spring onions in the accompanying ingredients pouch. It really was good. Mark had pork rib in chicken soup flavoured noodle – no meat. After breakfast, we checked-out of the hotel. We had booked the 10am forest train to Alishan but we were at Chiayi Train Station (????? 9;) at 9am in anticipation of long queue for the forest train tickets. We were too early, there was hardly any queue at the Forest Railway (????) ticket counter. I collected our train tickets (NT9 per pax per trip) using the pre-booking slip. I had booked and paid for the train tickets way in advance via the Internet. Buying tickets at the counter on a weekend was a big risk as seats on the forest train were limited. We were also required to pay for the entry ticket (NT0 per ticket) to Alishan Forest Recreation Area (????? 9;???). A long queue appeared at the ticketing counter as the train departing time approached. I was glad that I had anticipated that. We made ourselves comfortable in the waiting area and drank packet milk.
