A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to San Antonio, United States by TravelPod blogger Fred.ropp titled “Ahhhhhh Green!!!!” Fred.ropp’s travel blog entry: “Dear Nae, After driving across one of the longest deserts in North America, I am a bit tired of brown! I awoke early, had a great breakfast, and was off with the Green Machine. After just a few minutes, I was finally treated to some beautiful scenery! It was only 50 miles after Sonora that the land began to change. What a marvel!!! I can now say that S/E Texas is beautiful! The landscape turned to gracious, rolling hills with REAL TREES! (Bet the dogs were relieved) There was a point that It took my breath away. It was between Big Joshua Creek and Little Joshua Creek. There was a hill in between that proudly displayed a small ranch. It was the picture of what Texas is all about. I would have been proud to hang my hat there! My, what a great place with neat, white fencing all around. I was driving their “80 MPH” speed limit and could not stop without killing myself and others; otherwise, I would have shown you! The pictures of a small picnic area just past there is indication of what it looked like! Don’t ya love the “Don’t Mess With Texas” signs on the garbage cans there??? Little play on words… I drove though San Antonio with some heavy prayer going on! Buzzzzy town! I did a big “AMEN” and “AWOMEN” after getting though the city. The KOA was on the East side. What a beautiful KOA!!!! Highly recommend …
