As soon as we deplaned in this city we found a bathroon. Excellent. And then a computer with free Internet access. Then a huge shopping arcade… with a bookstore… with guidebooks! All this before picking up our checked luggage and going through Customs. We have never had such luxuries at any other airport. After all this, we took a high speed train into the city linked to the rest of KL’s transportation system. We arrived at our light rail station without having felt a drop of Malaysia’s monsoon rains. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by an artist / petrochemical engineer (!) who listed the nearby sights to see. What an easy welcome! What a city! We ventured out the next day from our Chinatown hotel to visit the world’s second tallest buildings (usurped from their supreme position by the Taipei 101) the Petronas Towers. While there, we hung out in the adjoining mall, getting a dose of the West (in the East). This mall allowed us to catch the latest Bond flick. We really liked it, but the part about the Canadian spy having secrets to sell was the most unbelievable thing we’ve ever seen in a 007 movie.
