Tried in vain to get everyone to sleep when they had time, but kids insist on getting up to play in the AM here like they are on San Diego time, so by the time evening rolls around they are passed out at the dinner table or on a subway train. We hit the ground running on this adventure. In our first few days we’ve flown the redeye to Taiwan, explored the city of Taipei, been up at 4am to catch an early flight out of Taipei, had two flight delays, taken one overnight sleeper train, 2 commuter trains, a half dozen subway rides, visited our first Mosque in Malaysia, first Buddhist Temple in Singapore, first Hindu Temple (again Singapore), attended a classical Indian music and dance performance, had two fantastic vegetarian Indian feasts served on banana leaves (one eaten with our hands), had Chinese fried breads and sweet potato, drank from fresh Thai coconuts, and ate Durian …
